I do think that US full spectrum hegemony will be maintained in the foreseeable future, regardless of what I see as very significant social economic decline within the domestic in the US. Europe is going to be either the bleeding lamb sort of following in the US's wake, or it's going to try to get a chit together about one or two or a walk quite quickly. There is a scenario in which Europe manages to issue its own debt securities and maybe then make the euro more of a key currency globally. But that is a remote and very unlikely scenario given the very fraught politics and the very limited imagination of other people who are in charge of the one.
