Fiji's Prime Minister signed an agreement with a country of New Zealand for that fellow island nation to provide his nation, Fiji, with military training and maritime security. Mr. Rabuka explained the rationale for this new agreement by saying, quote, if our systems and our values differ from China's, what cooperation can we actually get from them? He went on to add that he and his people should instead cooperate with those countries who have similar democratic values and systems.
