Liberal Inliberal Theory, About Neutrality
The idea that liberalism is this attempt to do politics without asserting values, strikes me as a red herring and a straw man. I think that the discourse in liberal inliberal theory, about neutrality, which is connected to this right, that somehow liberals uphold an ideal of neutrality. You know, it always struck me that, you know, when liberals who do use the language of neutrality, and are careful they say, no, neutrality is neutrality among permissible conceptions of the good. So we are neutral with respect to all of those.
