The Role Coffee Played in Our Moral and Technological Advancements
Coffee houses were probably one of our first truly egaltarian spaces where people could just come together and talk about ideas. And importantly, the coffee house, in many ways, an alternative to the pub. I don't know how much of an effect it really had, sh from alcohol to coffee, but it's true that king charles did not consider banning the the pubs and taverns and so forth and the ale houses.
