The out of nowhere g major chord that she hits right before the ending fits perfectly with the way she tends to end the song. She hears her voice, and now so do we.
Tori Amos was one of the most distinctive songwriters of the 90s, and remains a powerful musical voice decades later. "Silent All These Years," one of many strong singles off of her 1992 solo debut, is a perfect encapsulation of so many of the things that make her music special.
