The US Fish and Wildlife Service has decided to try and vaccinate the birds. This will be the first time the United States has ever vaccinated birds against highly pathogenic avian influenza. There's actually a vaccine available for a previous strain, but it appears to be protected against this current strain that we have circulating in Europe and North America.
