Introduction

Cheryl was standing in the checkout line behind a woman who looked to be in her 60s. When it was her turn to pay, the cashier greeted her by name and asked how she was doing. The woman explained that her husband just lost his job and her son is up to his old tricks again. She paid the majority of her purchases with food stamps. Cheryl wanted to help but didn't know how. As she walked to the parking lot, she spotted the woman returning her cart. It wasn't a handful of cash or a lead on a job for her husband, but maybe it was something that would be useful for her right now.
