Is the Street Casting and the Photo Shoot in the Opening Night a Good Idea?
Africa is a work in progress that she's constantly unfolding and opportuning a set of mirrors. We can also reflect a new sense of self out there in the world. I don't ever paint myself, but I'm slowly getting closer to myself because it's always me looking. It's not really about any of those people in the painting. So much of it is about this kind of circularity of outward pointing in order to arrive at the inside.
