The Different Types of Pain

The visual cortex can override basically all other aspects of sensory input. In the mirror box experiment, people stroked a fake arm while feeling their real one. The pain went away as soon as they saw it in the mirror. And so this is phantom pain. So again, it's so many different aspects.
