The Anatomy of the Voice Box

New imaging techniques mean that for the first time we're now able to scrutinise the anatomy of the whole voice box. Julian McGlashan and Ian O's and throat specialist at Nottingham University Hospitals have taken singers and laced a video endoscope down each of their throats. The point is to get singers to add sounds to their natural singing voice. Are they able to do gravelly or screechy without damaging their vocal cords?
