Euknoa: It does seem at some level we are a bag of chemicals, right? And electrical fireing, you know, because we can go in and we see through brain injury. So there's clearly a biological underline. But what's really difficult about it is that when we say it's biological, the either on or actual outright telling is that these diagnoses are chronic. Yet there is no evidence to suggest that any diagnosis is chronic. EukNoa: The only danger, to me, about the biological explanation, wer thereare many dangers.

Sarah Fay is an author and activist. Her writing appears in many publications, including The New York Times, The Atlantic, Time Magazine, The New Republic, Longreads, The Michigan Quarterly Review, The Rumpus, The Millions, McSweeney’s, The Believer, and The Paris Review, where she served as an advisory editor. She is currently on the faculty of the English departments at Northwestern University and DePaul University.
