Is Ireland a Catholic Land?
When the reformation came, our choice was to stay catholic. We remained loyal and steadfast to the vatican. To have changed at that time would also have been seen to be loyal to the new invaders coming inthere. Maybe was a patriotic aspect to it as well. Whole culture of the holy wells, i don't recall seeing that anywhere in theology or in ot really specific to ireland. So that's indigenous, and it can be incorporated into the more modern christianity. But it was there before ye compost pileyesh the irish exactly.
