The Invasion of the Inca Empire
In 1542, a man named Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo sails up the Pacific coast of what is now the United States. He names San Diego and California and reaches as far as present-day Oregon. By that time, Pizarro has long since been assassinated by rival conquistadors in Lima. While Pizarro is busy in Peru, his compatriots are an omission to the north.
