What Are Mortgage Rates Going to Do?
Mortgage rates are what really is making the difference for that traditional seller who wants to be a buyer. In 1974 and 1975, the US had a recession, but bond yields and mortgage rates went up. Then the same thing happened in 1980 and 1981. This is the fear of the 1970s coming back again, which I don't believe is correct. As a country, we're in a much more mature stage of our economy. We have supply chains and just natural more supply of product out there than what we used to have. The Federal Reserve is stuck back in the 1970s. It's not breaking out anytime soon on a historical basis. There is no wage spiral for everyone else
