What's the Potential of a Cyber Attack in a Military Situation?
Any modern army now is totally dependent upon its data networks to conduct war. A US four-star general said I cannot go to war without my networks. If you can disrupt those, then you can have a major adverse effect on the battlefield. The Russians are trying to destroy the will of the Ukrainian people to fight a war. We knew this war was coming. People in the cyber world could see that this was coming and a lot of work was done to harden the systems. And that's been one of the things that has limited the kind of attacks that Russia has done because it is nervous about crossing the red line.
