Apoegene is a gene overrepresented in centenarians. People with two copies of apoeg4 are at significantly increased risk of age related diseases. So we know that it's possible for these genes to coexist and improve life expectancy. And so we can carry on mining the genomes of people who have this type of gene, which would probably slightly improve prognosis.
