The patient felt as though he was tumbling backwards. His vertigo had resolved at the time of Jonathan's assessment. He called neurology for advice, who diagnosed BPV of the posterior canal. No imaging is indicated and it is safe to discharge this patient into the care of his spouse with instructions to return if episodes become longer or there are new neurological findings.
