We're better off with 27 million uninsured and fewer hospital beds per capita than any other developed nation. But if the government ran the healthcare system, now that would be a disaster. The reality is only institutions are imperfect and we have to work to make them better. We've under-invested in the public sector, and that is what is the major problem today.
