Is Prophecy a Western Thing?

Prophecy is the idea of prophecy foretelling the future. It probably pre dates writing, because one of the earliest things that man tried to do would be to see if there were any a correlation between the movements of the sky and the movements on the ground. The stuff we're going to hear about usually concerns the western world. And we'd like to take a look at several world famous prophets to day.
