Is There a Defining Sound in Punk?
No one's born into it. And I think ultimately it's about just giving young people freedom to create. So in a way, there isn't necessarily to your ears a defining sound of punk. But that's when people start saying there's a defining sound in it. That's when I lose interest because all that flying non-record stuff at a New Zealand is what they call punk. It sounds nothing like blitz and exploited,. but it is just as valid as punk because that's what they callpunk.
