The South Korean Supreme Court Decision to Resolve Forced Labor Claims

In 2018, there were two South Korean Supreme Court decisions that held that Japanese companies had to compensate Korean victims of forced labor. Japan agreed to a visit by President Yun, which was the first bilateral summit between the two countries in 12 years. At the summit, the two countries agreed to things like presuming diplomatic ties and security dialogues,. normalizing an intelligence sharing agreement, and taking steps towards resolving trade disputes.
