The Elements of Wings and Arms

There's a lot of bird imagry, almost too much bird imagery in this novel. And so i think the elements of wings and arms, i think, are closely tied together. There's something about being able to soar above convention, about the fact that she ultimately drowns herself. I think she sees aninjured bird fall right before thati she does. Yet a little on the nose. But i don't know, is there more to be made of this?
