The Evolution of Gender Identity in Children
Gender identity emerges somewhere between 18 and 24 months, so one and a half to two years. Fathers in particular seem to describe their children quite differently. By the age of around 30 months most children can accurately label their sex. There's evidence that over the course of a child's development conceptions of gender identity become somewhat softened over time.
