Is There a Difference Between a Happy Life and a Meaningful Life?

Can you live a perfectly happy, good life without ever sitting down and being alone with your thoughts? Probably yes. But depending on their values that may not be as meaningful or as psychologically rich of a life as they might want to have. There's research that thinking in this way sort of retreating inwards into your own thoughts is helpful for pain tolerance. And I actually find it a useful strategy that instead of pulling out devices, if I simply sit and occupy myself with my own thoughts, you know, it's given me another tool in mental toolkit.
