The Principles of War in Insurgency

The principles of war apply to so many different things, and that's why I find them so fascinating. In an insurgency, they don't have tanks, but they have time. They can wait you out and they can just pick away at you the death of a thousand cuts. Relentless pursuance of the aim is how you get things done. The LTT was clear in its aim, and unrelenting in its pursuit. Elam and political settlement on its terms. And as it finally turned out, we were not even sure of what our national interests were.
