The Magic of the Creative Process

There's a sense that these songs are not just something you're synthesizing out of nothing they're almost out there and you're kind of trying to find them. I wish there was more of that but actually my creative process is extremely rigorous and it's just hard work. It begins at nine o'clock in the morning I sit down and I start writing if I'm writing songs which I am at the moment and it finishes at five thirty in the afternoon. Within that context there within that time there is a very troubled relationship with my muse and with that is fraught and full of anxiety and not a very nice place at all.
