The Disinterested Drive to Knowledge
The drive to knowledge isn't what's operative there, right? It's again being used instrumentally as a tool of some other interest. Nietzsche says philosophers can be rather malicious and he means this is sort of a tongue and cheek playful way. Epicurus had a little sort of a mean joke against the Platonists and Plato that he called them Dionysio Colacchis, which means literally the flatterors of Dionysus.
