The Relativism of Modernity

The ultimate point is that political institutions need values in order to make decisions. The most important question we need to answer at the beginning of the twentieth century is, what do we base the values of our political system upon? Leo strauss says when you pay attention to the answers modernity is actually giving us to that question, the silence is deafening. Maybe it's time we start looking at other forms of rationality to find solutions to the problems our version of rationality has s no idea how to solve.
