I've Renounced My Claim on My Life
The depth of it is I've renounced any claim I have on my time. That's the kind of fasting or penance that can exhibit this reality. We don't know if that person followed him to another. He says, follow me, but he says, Lord, let me first go bury my father. And Jesus says, no one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back and spit for the kingdom of God. What's he doing? He's setting his people free from slavery.
