Is There a Better Form of Federalism?

In some cases, the state bending over backward to either quell some secessionist sentiments. That can ultimately affect the greater good in an economic sense in the long run. There is this more economically efficient form of federalism that we have in textbooks. But it's not not a popular model. It doesn't really make it difficult for voters to determine who is actually responsible for a policy. And also makes it so that regional governments have less financial accountability.
