Theta Bara - A Review
In a session thida bara gave a series of statements for reporters to quote. This type of revising and rewriting of a person's life to create essentially a new character that they played as their public persona was actually pretty common. Selig and goldfrap knew that a lot of old school reporters in the room would never by this whole yarn they had spun regarding bara's back story. So she became a celebrity before anyone even saw her film. It was also done obviously with zero consideration or awareness of things like cultural appropriation.
