The Power of Storytelling
When we tell a story, normally we emerge the hero in that story. It doesn't matter what happened in real life. You tell a story where you are the hero. And after a while, a bit of forced memory work, you come to believe that. So if something's too boring or too exciting or too traumatic, then your brain just goes, no, I'm not going to make a memory of that. That's why when people remember these events, they normally are telling you something wonderful that happened in their life and the great thing that they did.
