Introduction

Anxiety disorders are highly prevalent, and data from the National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions suggest just under 13% of people in the United States are affected over a 12-month period. The typical presenting symptoms of anxiety disorders can present with both psychological-type symptoms and physical symptoms. We do need to inquire more to understand whether an anxiety disorder is present.
