Why Do We Care About Not Being Fictional?
Ams was narrating his recovery from substance abuse. The idea that memoirs contain lies or, you know, stuff that's just made up is controversial. Ams: We want there to be a space in the literary universe for non fictional accounts. If this border becomes too fuzzy, it's not possible for the genre to really amis a sort of a street and existential threat to the genre.
