The President's Speech or Debate Clause Protects Us From Law Enforcement Actions
Rosa Flores: Vice President Mike Pence has asked a judge to block a federal grand jury subpoena compelling his testimony about January 6. She says he's arguing that because he was also acting as the president of the Senate on January 6, he is shielded by the speech or debate clause. Flores: This could potentially be a pretty significant part of his testimony. The Justice Department will likely push back on whether it comes to the executive privilege argument that Trump is making for why he shouldn't testify.
