Is the German Government Bullying Economists?

Germans are debating the impact of energy sanctions on their economy. The debate has turned into an economic discussion about just how much damage and embargo on energy would do to germany. Some economists have said, from an overall macro economic perspective, the damage would be manageable. But now the german government has been saying over and over that would be catastrophic. There would be mass unemployment, entire branches of industries collapsing.
