Are We Thinking Outside of the Box?
The housing crisis is an enormous kind of hatchet sitting over this whole without people being willing to face it. New york city spends one point two billion dollars a year to temporarily house people in shelters. I think cities like baltimore have the same problem, i totally agree with you. How can we take these vacant spaces and create permanent new housing? There are big conversations happening now at a pretty high level to turn those vacant hotels into apartments. You know, we really need to push these types of ideas.
