Translation and the Art of Writing Memoirs

Heye: I was wondering if you can talk a bit about how the art of translation impacted your approach to memoir, and maybe what are the ways that translating makes you a better writer. Oh, that's a great question. The initial way that i learned how to translate in school is through something we call a seamless translation. And that's translating that the language that you're translating into, you wanted to read as if it was written in that language to begin with. So when i write em i think i keep those things in mind.
