Doctors Are Desperate to Please

When you are sick and vulnerable and frightened, many people want a degree of authority. You don't want your doctor saying 'we've got no idea what we're doing here' The last two years have been an incredible upheaval in the relationship between medicine and science as well as with the general public. We have never ever experienced anything like the onslaught of abuse and hostility and attacks as ana staff that we have in this pandemic. It is astonishing to me that an h s staff has been attacked in that way for saying these very obvious things. And somehow, i think the pandemic has divided us because it's revealed, perhaps, the limitations of our power as human beings.
