The Importance of Honor in the Civil War
A lot of people think honored. Oh, you know what honor means. You don't need to write a whole book about how men and women perceived honor. What I found was a difference in how men displayed honor. So for both the rest and the gentlemen, their self worth comes from whether their peers give them worth. But they have very different rituals about how they display their honor and what they do if they're shamed in front of others.
