The Origins of George Orr
George Orr is considered the number one ceramic artist in American history. He started off making Victorian style pots, pictures with molded designs like a steamboat and something happened. We can't say for sure that it's New Orleans art pottery because there are so few surviving examples from this period. But since this particular pot doesn't have any maker's marks on the bottom, David made sure to hedge his bets.
