Neuroticism: A Psychology of Joy

I think Christianity has become quite joyless. The only places where there's a really impassioned, happy spirit of worship is in black churches. I don't know anybody in public life who could have gone through what I went through and not been broken by it. But I'm not. It hasn't beaten me. And that's down to a combination of personal characteristics that I don't think many other people possess. You're fortunate and nothing bad has really happened to you yet.
