The Rise and Fall of the Port of Dallas
The city of Dallas dug the Trinity, a 26-mile straight shot channel with tall levies on either side. President John F. Kennedy signed off on a huge $900 million spending package for the Trinity. Even though this massive project was on its face about flood control, Dallas leaders at the time saw this as the resurrection of the Port of Dallas.
