Is There a Goal to Complete a Book?

Even if a book is good, it may be filled with stuff you've already read. People do the same with books. It's like people have this weird problem and even Bill Gates has said this. He says he cannot leave a book unfinished. So to him, the the act of starting a book is he really thinks about it because he doesn't want to start a book that he's not going to finish.
