The Importance of Comprehensible Input in Language Learning
Teachers realized that they did need to provide comprehensible input. But it wasn't easy to do without teaching a bunch of vocabulary and grammar. So there's an approach which really focuses on comprehensible input called TPRS, teaching proficiency through reading and storytelling. John: For some learners, it doesn't seem practical or perhaps not palatable to try to learn like a baby and to not try to talk. However, for some learners, the idea of being fed just tiny bits of language and learning it bit by bit is appealing.
