Navigator Paulina Galman spoke to Professor Raina Pennington for her research in the 1990s. Here she remembers arriving at the front line in the summer of 42, prior to the battle of Stalingrad. I remember one more night when I was flying, and I was crying the whole time. We managed to make considerably more sorties in a night than other regiments - every minute counted.
