The Value of Civil Litigation in the Sandy Hook Shooting

Families of Sandy Hook victims reached a settlement agreement with the company that manufactured and marketed the firearm used in the attack. The family had been arguing that federal immunity allowed certain violations of state law committed by remington and arms. Remington appears to reach the conclusion that the legal risk was serious enough to warrant settling for 73 million dollars. Nadle: Does this all mean that these private lawsuits are going to be perhaps a major ntol or maybe the major new tool by which we're going to s push back against gun manufactures potential efforts to dress gun violence?
