Speaking a Foreign Language
You've spent so much time living, learning and working in those countries. I'd love to hear if knowing the local language has given you any really rich memories from these travels that you otherwise would not have had if you were just travelling through english. It is a different experience. The analogy i was like to use is that it's like havinga scuba gear. If you don't speak the local language, you can poke your head under the water but you can't stay down there for very long. You're going to unlock doors that you don't even see if you don't speak that language.
