In English, we don't pronounce every syllable or every word with the same emphasis. This creates the reduction of some syllables and the emphasis of other syllables. When we reduce some syllables, oftentimes it will link to other syllables, even if they're in a different word. And this is what creates the connective speech for us. We saw before an example sentence, I ran a milk, so I'm going to the store. If you just heard that, you can probably catch some of the words I'm saying.
