The Importance of Death
In 2010, Empire magazine ranked it as the eighth greatest film in world cinema. It went on to win the grand prize at Cannes in 1957. Bergman was shocked because this was a little movie. He didn't expect this to be an important film. The idea that they can keep tricking death and play slapstick is played up.
